Identity Theft

Identity theft is when an individual’s personal details are obtained and used to illegally open bank accounts, apply for credit cards, loans, state benefits and documents such as passports and driving licenses amongst other things.

Identity theft is a type of fraud and is Britain's fastest-growing white-collar crime, increasing at nearly 500% a year. It affects approximately 100,000 people in the UK annually.

In light of such an increasing problem Lexelle has developed an identity theft assistance package designed to give policyholders peace of mind against this extremely intrusive crime.

Benfits include:

• Access to an identity theft website which provides users with advice, hints and tips to help prevent becoming a victim.
• A helpline manned by experienced staff.
• The assignment of a caseworker and assistance in devising a personalised action recovery plan should the worst happen.
